Myths About Sargodha's Name

It is not confirmed how the city Sargodha got its name but so many myths have been heard. It is said that the name "Sargodha" was propounded after the name of a Hindu Priest whose name was Godha and he used to live near a pond. As they say, "Sar" means "Pond" and "Godha" is the name of a Hindu Priest after whom the name of the city was generated. But there is no authentic information about it.

British Royals planned to make this city Divisional headquarter in the year 1960, before that it was District headquarter since 1940.
