INTRODUCTION:
Cricket has been founded as a team sport for hundreds of years and is one of the most popular sports in the world. It can be played both socially and competitively, by males and females of all ages. Cricket may not be the national game of Pakistan, but it has persisted, arguably the country’s most popular sport for decades.
In Pakistan Street cricket is very famous as it is played by people of all ages. Health benefits of sports are legion and cricket is no exception. Bowling, hitting and catching all require strong arms. Even amateur players see improvements in overall health by participating in cricket matches. PSL 2021:
Pakistan Cricket Board introduced PSL in 2015. Since then the cricket series is organized annually, and praised by millions of cricket lovers across the globe. PSL 2021, the sixth season of PSL, is going to commence its first match on 20th Feb-2021, the most awaited cricket event of the year. Lahore (Gadaffi Stadium) and Karachi (National Stadium) will host the cricket matches. It is also regarded as the second season in which all the matches will be played entirely in Pakistan. According to NCOC decision, only 20% of the crowd will witness the match in the stadium, given Covid-19 Pandemic.
REVIVAL OF INTERNATIONAL CRICKET:
Pakistan Super League, therefore, majorly contributed to the revival of international cricket in Pakistan after almost a decade. You will get to see many renowned international players in PSL 2021 including Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, David Miller, Chris Lynn, Tom Banton and Rashid Khan as well as your favourite local cricket stars.
OFFICIAL ANTHEM:
The league is being promoted on social media with the hashtags #MatchDikhao, #HBL_PSL6 and of official anthem Groove Mera by Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and Young Stunners.
FORMAT:
Pakistan Super League is a cricket series based on a group of teams named after the six major cities of Pakistan including Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. These teams will play 10 matches each and will get 2 points for every win, none for a loss and 1 point in case of a draw. Every player is determined to make their team victorious and have made a promise to not let down fans.
PSL UMPIRES SQUAD:
Judge performances in sporting competitions to determine a winner, every decision from a no-ball to an out is looked after by the Umpire. In other words, you can say cricket is nothing without them. There are 8 Pakistani umpires and 2 British umpires to officiate the entire event.
Precautions:
Special cautions have been taken under the Covid-19 Pandemic. The crowd is advised to come with proper measures. The stadiums are getting ready to host the matches under this pandemic.
