Ramadan 2020 and Covid19

The Holy Month

Ramadan is the most sacred and 9th month of the Islamic calendar. The month of Ramadan is celebrated with zeal and zest all across the world in Muslim communities. It is the month of spiritual enlightenment, self-improvement, devotion and worship. Muslims all across the world observe fasting in this holy month from dawn to dusk. This sacred month teaches us to be kind and patient. It teaches us to feel for the less privileged people of the society and be empathetic towards them.

The month of Ramadan is all about teachings that we have to follow to be a better person inside out. In this month, everyone tries harder to be a better person. We, as the observant or listeners must not discourage someone who is trying harder in this month, do not look down upon him/her as newly converted, make them feel normal, guide them and be nice to them.

Be Empathetic

As the corona breakdown is also not resolved yet and we are facing a lot of problems, be it financial, emotional, and mental or any other, try to be aware of the people around you, help them in unnoticed ways so that they do not feel bad for being quarantined in this Holy Month. As we are celebrating this month while staying at home, try to be as productive as you can to be helpful to others. Along with pleasing the ALLAH SWT, do not forget the people living in your neighbours.

Prayers and Lockdown

Ramadan Mubarak is the month in which people worship day and night, especially in mosques. Different events are arranged to spend the nights for worship and prayers. Namaz e Taraweeh is arranged in the mosques but this year due to covid19 and lockdown; all these prayers have been restricted to the homes. Those festive nights outside the home would not be celebrated. The lockdown has tried to lessen the festivities of Ramadan but we would not let it happen by arranging all the festivities at homes.

Arrange festivities at Home

Though we are not allowed to stay out or go out for celebrating al the prayer nights this Ramadan, we can arrange the prayer nights in our homes with our families. Why do not we all start rejoicing this month with our families? Help the ladies in preparing iftar, arrange Taraweeh prayers, narrate the stories of Prophet Muhammad SAWW to each other and have a lovely time together.

Ramadan is the most blessed month, it helps everyone to be closer to Allah SWT, to follow the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAWW. In this month try to be nice and empathetic towards everyone, do not abuse, do not judge anyone, do not talk behind someone, try to adopt good habits that will be helpful throughout your life.
