Big News For Construction Industry

Fixed Tax Regime for the construction sector had been extended to Dec 31, 2021, as it was a big demand from the Construction Sector. Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the nation said " Pakistan was the only country in the sub-continent that had seen the fastest recovery from Covid-19 pandemic. The new year will be a year of economic growth for Pakistan."

Speaking about the incentives that the government provided to the construction industry earlier this year, PM Imran Khan said that the industry showed considerable progress as projects worth Rs186 billion were registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

These incentives are expected to generate economic activity worth Rs. 150 Billion in Punjab alone and generate employment by adding 2.5 lacs jobs across Pakistan. Under the Construction incentive package banks have allocated Rs. 378 billion till December 2021, for the housing and construction sector. Moreover, Rs. 163 billion worth of projects were approved in Punjab and Rs.136 Billion are to be approved.

He added that when cement sales are increasing it is a clear sign that construction activity is on the rise. Construction Amnesty Scheme is launched by FBR for attracting the investors.
