Growth of Cement Consumption in the Fiscal Year 2020-21

Despite the lockdown and the pandemic situation, the consumption of cement grew insanely in the fiscal year 2020-21. Mainly because of the packages government has provided to the construction industry.

All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has announced that the consumption of cement rose 5.04 percent to 3.520 million tons all over Pakistan in the fiscal year 2020-21.

Last year, the cement that dispatched in the local market was 2.665 and in the current fiscal year, the ratio has risen above 4.84 percent with a record of 2.794 tons till August.

As compared to the last year, the export of cement in August of this fiscal year, the industry made a growth of 5.82 percent, for 0.725 million tons.

Last year the sale could rise to 6.863 but in the current fiscal year, the sale jumped by 21.78 to 8.358 million tons in the first two months.

The government’s agenda to support the construction industry is helping not only the construction industry but the other 40 industries linked with it. The growth of the cement industry is open evidence for the government’s stance of making the industry flourish by leaps and bounds.
