An ordinance has been passed that 6 Thousand Housing Societies will be legalized with just 2% of the penalty after the enforcement of Punjab Commission Ordinance 2021. This ordinance was passed after many ministers denied to review the case.
Among these illegal housing societies, 1500 comes under Development Authorities of several districts while others come under the Provincial Government and Municipal Corporation. The Chairperson of Punjab Commission for Regularization will be the retired Judge of the Supreme Court or High Court. The Commission will comprise 4 members including a town panner, a civil engineer, environmentalist, and lawmaker.
