Introduction to Quetta, Fruit Garden of Pakistan.

Quetta- the capital of Baluchistan, Pakistan is a fabulous city. This city was destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1935 and was redesigned by the British into the fine well-planned city. It is the 5th largest city of Pakistan.

Baluchistan is famous as ‘Fruit Garden of Pakistan’ because it comprises a diverse range of fruits around the city and a large variety of fruits and dried fruits products are produced there. The province shares 90% of the national production of grapes, cherries and almonds. Along with the peaches, pomegranates, apricots, apples and dates also hold delectable taste in the country. 

People of Quetta are not as violent as they are portrayed. They are loving, caring and have a good nature. They are thought so because of the advent of Afghan refugees. It is their necessity to protect themselves and their families from the hostiles which have entered their city and creating violence.

It is a trade and communication centre between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The city is near the Bolan Pass route which ones served as a major gateway from Central Asia to South Asia. Quetta has a cold semi-arid climate with a significant variation between summer and winter temperatures.

Literacy Rate of Baluchistan is very low as compared to other provinces having the statistics of 44% in the country and is also thought as a backward province who need attention and focus to bring forward with others. Quetta Cuisine:

Quetta is famous for some of its traditional dishes which includes Dampukht- a Balochi dish prepared with meat and it’s cooked in fats. Khadi Kabab- a dish in which a whole lamb or goat is cooked over a fire. One who visits Quetta must try them.
