In the Sargodha District, under the annual development program of various departments, work is underway on 241 schemes estimated at Rs. 3.44 billion. Out of the funds of Rs. 82 crore allocated for these schemes for the current year, Rs. 79 crores have been released and 61% of the released funds have been utilized. This was disclosed in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asghar Joya.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Shoaib Niswana, DGPHA Rai Yasir Bhatti, Health and Resorts, and officials of construction departments. The meeting was informed that under the Annual Development Program, 18 Water Supply and Sanitation, 4 Local Government Roads, 32 Roads, 10 Buildings, 3 Highways, 2 Anhar and Youth Affairs, Special Health Care, Primary and Secondary Health. Work is underway on a Wildlife and Social Welfare scheme.
These schemes were estimated at Rs. 1.86 billion. Details of 126 schemes of Annual Development Program 2021-22 were also presented in the meeting and it was informed that work on these schemes was in progress. The meeting also identified 41 new sector-wise new schemes for the annual development program. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asghar Joya directed the construction departments to take all necessary steps to make the ongoing projects sustainable. He also issued orders for ensuring transparent use of funds and completion of rescues within the stipulated time. Officers of construction departments participating in the meeting gave detailed briefings on development projects and other issues.
